A 45-year-old man wanted over domestic violence offences was detained by a police dog after officers attended an address in Lisarow.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District and the Northern Region Operations Support Group went to the address on Wednesday, July 1, with Police Dog Epic.

The man was already on two sets of court-issued bail conditions for domestic violence offences and was wanted for further domestic violence offences when police received information he was at the Lisarow address.

When police arrived, the man fled before being detained by Police Dog Epic and his handler. He was taken to Gosford Hospital for medical treatment.

The man was charged with common assault domestic violence and knowingly contravening a prohibition or restriction in an apprehended violence order.

He was also charged with knowingly contravening an AVO for a third or subsequent time in 28 days and a detention application arrest for alleged breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 on Thursday, July 2.
