Firefighters force entry through locked gate to tackle Somersby structure fire
Kariong crews deployed breathing apparatus after forcing access through a locked electric gate, with NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW crews supporting the Somersby response.
Firefighters forced entry through a locked electric driveway gate before bringing a structure fire under control at Somersby, Kariong Rural Fire Brigade says.
Both of the brigade’s appliances responded. First-arriving crews found access blocked, gained entry and deployed breathing apparatus before commencing firefighting operations.
NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews also assisted. Kariong Rural Fire Brigade said the fire was brought under control promptly and credited the joint response.
