Terrigal water search stood down after object identified as drum line

A Terrigal water search has been stood down after crews found a drum line matching bystander footage of an object first thought to possibly be a person in difficulty.

The report brought NSW Ambulance, NSW Police and Surf Life Saving NSW to Terrigal Haven Boat Ramp, with a boat and jet skis used in the search.

The Toll Rescue Helicopter had also been tasked to Terrigal before the object was identified.

Search teams were satisfied the drum line was the object seen by the bystander, and emergency service crews were stood down.
